The Puckett, Clemens, Davis and McGwire should all be in there, but I'd pull the Pettis. I don't really like the Gooden - it's a fuzzy picture, not the greatest shot. I'd consider putting one of the following from 85 Traded set over Pettis: 1) Vince Coleman - a RC and a great shot of him on the base paths 2) Gary Carter - first card as a Met 3) Rickey Henderson - first card as a Yankee
Got to keep the Pettis since it is really a picture of his younger brother! Classic card! The Gooden was an improtant card in this set at the time, but since you have the 84traded version below, I think these are the best choices. Though, I would never argue against inclulding any Odibe McDowell card. lol
Thanks, Jodi
PS. I just opened an eBay store if anyone is looking for some cool cards. (Just click the link in my name above.)
If you want to nominate cards that you don't see on any of the posts, feel free to include them here. Up to five cards (there has to be a limit) will be added to the existing five cards when it comes time to vote.
By then, the comments will be closed for nominations, and it will be time to put everything to a vote.
I would replace the Pettis card with Dwight Gooden.

OK, after seeing the Topps show on MLB Network - I say keep the Pettis!
ReplyDeleteI'd put Gooden in over Clemens, and I've always liked the photo and color combination of Rod Carew, I'd sub that for Pettis.
