Yeah, Daddy Wags for the '65 set isn't going to cut it. Too many important Rookie Cards. You've entirely forgotten Catfish Hunter, here. And the Kevin Collins Rookie (yeah, some guy named Perez on that one, too). I wouldn't, personally, want to leave out the 4 player Mets rookie with Swoboda and McGraw. Berra and Spahn as Mets. Marichal and McCovey had great looking cards (as did Willie, of course). Growing up, everyone seemed to be chasing Pete Rose that year. Casey Stengel's last hurrah. I was always partial to the Brock and Flood cards for some reason. All in all, this might be Topps' greatest set ever. So Daddy Wags will have to go.
If you want to nominate cards that you don't see on any of the posts, feel free to include them here. Up to five cards (there has to be a limit) will be added to the existing five cards when it comes time to vote.
By then, the comments will be closed for nominations, and it will be time to put everything to a vote.
How about the Tony Perez rookie. I like that card better than # 282 and 367.
ReplyDeleteI would go with the '65 Mantle. Classic!
ReplyDeleteI'd go with the Joe Morgan RC for sure, and probably the Perez RC, too. 2 HOF-ers, though I'm a biased reds fan!
